Hey A4N Family,
Did you know green leafy veges, specifically spinach and kale, are great sources of nutrients and vitamins for our hair?
I love baby spinach! I have it 4-5 times a week either for breakfast in an omelet, for lunch in a salad or sautéed in coconut oil for dinner. I introduced kale into my meals a few years ago and often include it in green smoothies.
Spinach is a “super food” comprised of vitamins E, C and B, potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium and omega-3 fatty acids – all of which are required for healthy hair growth. Iron helps the red blood cells carry oxygen to our hair follicles which is essential for healthy hair growth and strong hair strands. (source: WebMD)
Similarly, kale (aka “the queen of greens”) is packed with hair strengthening properties like omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. If you’re experiencing breakage, kale is the one for you! It helps to increase elasticity, thickness and increases circulation in the scalp. (source: WebMD)
Try this ultimate green smoothie blended with spinach, kale and other green goodies like apples, kiwi and grapes. It’s great for curbing your appetite which can help with weight loss.
Sounds good right? Let’s get started with the simple recipe.
